New blog!

I mean, who starts a blog in 2025? Me! that’s who. I know most people are podcasting, making tik tok videos and building their youtube channels. Well, think of me as your neighborhood ludite that is slowly trying to embrace this new fangled technology and this thing called the world wide web. No, I’m not that ancient or out of it, I just well, do things on my own pace. It’s like my friend who refuses to listen to a popular band, despite the praise and recommendations, then about twenty years later gives it a first listen and claims they just discovered this new cool band called “Radiohead”.

So yea, blogging has been around a while. I’m familiar with the various iterations of live journal, tumblr, and early pre-elon days of twitter when it was actually fun. Serious writers have gone to substack and patreon. So I might be a few decades late, but I’m embracing the blog format.

My goal for this blog will be to speak about dogs of course, from dog behavior sciences, capital T training, speak to the dog pro community, and of course, bring in some fun and whimsy. We all need a little joy in our lives these days.

So let me just say hi, and welcome to the new blog. Expect rambling, wild tangents, obscure pop-culture references, and absolutely no formality. I can’t stress that enough. This is for fun, if no one reads it, I’ll still be posting and making myself crack up. I expect to be posting lots of photos of my dog too, because why not. If a blog is meant to bring in sponsors or have financial benefits, I can guarantee you that I will fail miserably at that. If after reading this blog and we get a chance to speak in person, you’ll see that I am the exact same person.

So glad you’re here!

The in-person session

There is such a strong pull from people to cling to doing sessions in person. It's what they see and hear about. most people conjure up thoughts of group classes with dogs lined up holding down stays, or walking in circles nicely around each other on some large open...
